Blades Sharpening

The cutting edges of the blades must be kept sharp to obtain the best finish. In most cases the cutting edges can be satisfactorily maintained by diamond lapping stick and rarely will it be necessary to remove the blades and grind them.

The above figure shows a pair of blades ground with top rake varying from 3° to 5° which is recommended for obtaining the best results when reaming soft materials
